It’s been literally months since I last posted. So much has happened and I feel like I need to post something to update you all.
- I finally finished up my job in K-State Ag Econ Nov. 30. As bad as I felt leaving them without a communications person, I’m glad I didn’t wait until they had someone hired because they’re still searching as we speak. I think I might have spontaneously combusted or had some kind of crazy nervous breakdown if I continued to juggle everything!
- I started freelancing full time Dec. 1. OK, well, I may have taken a few days for myself in early December. After the chaos of last year, I figured I earned them.
- The holidays came and went and royally threw off my schedule. Know the movie Four Christmases? Psssh. That’s nothing. We have seven. I achieved literally nothing for two weeks straight.
- After New Year’s, I made a mad dash to prepare for the Flint Hills Bridal Show. My dad came in and bailed me out at the last minute and helped me make my booth look nice. Thanks, Dad. I’ve been working on a few invitations for family and friends, but haven’t seen the big rush yet from customers like the last time I exhibited at the show. Patience, patience.
- I started teaching my second semester of PR Writing. I have 16 students this time, about 90% of whom are in a sorority. No offense, of course. But the excuses started early this semester. Real early. Going to be a long semester. At least it gets me out of the house twice a week and back to “civilization” (Manhattan!).
- We have been updating the house with fresh paint, new trim and soon, new interior doors. We knocked out a wall and I have a lovely office space with a picture window. If only I had my trees from Wamego. I miss them!
- Life has been otherwise very busy. I’ve been playing volleyball on Monday nights with a group of girls in Abilene (which I definitely stink at, but it’s fun). I also agreed to do a New Year’s foodie blogging challenge with Anna Wastell … and while I HAVE been cooking more, I have yet to blog about any of it. Maybe once I get my iPhone (waiting on the next version) it will be easier to do this. At least Pinterest has inspired me to ditch the usual frozen pizzas.
Oh, and I’ve lost 15 pounds! Yay! God bless working from home! Several more to go before we go to Cancun in May with our friends, Dave and Dani Evans. CAN. NOT. WAIT!
I was waiting for this update! I’m still wondering where those 15 lbs were, because you were so tiny to begin with. But congrats and Cancun will be an awesome way to celebrate.
Aren’t you sweet! There’s 25 more where those came from. Yes, it’s true. Either I’ve hid the extra weight well or I’ve been heavy long enough that no one remembers skinny me!
Congrats on the weight loss. Cancun, eh? Think I can sneak into your bag?
Wouldn’t that be great?
I really wish we could just go right now, but I could use a few more months to keep at it with the weight loss plan. Weight Watchers, baby! Now I need to start running again to help speed it up!
